Your DTM Project Team
DTM Projects require a team of people in order to be successful. Toastmasters tagline “Where Leaders Are Made” means something and the DTM Project is where you get to practice your leadership skills to make a difference for others. The DTM Project is not a one and done thing like an HPL. It’s more like an HPL on steroids. The aim is to make HUGE difference in the way things are done, increasing effientency and effectiveness within an organization. This DTM Club wants to remove roadblocks for its members trying to attain their DTM. We have found that many members throughout Toastmasters have a hard time thinking of what projects they can do for the DTM Project credit. We found a few projects we thought might help and are attempting to lay them out here for our members who need suggestions. Currently, all the projects listed here are designed to help the District reach its goals. Coordination between the member doing the project and the Trio is essential to keep track of who qualifies for what positions. Thus far, we have identified a few minimum team members that are needed to conduct a successful project. While not exhuastive, we figured out for these projects that at least one coordinator is needed (this is the person conducting the project), two people to make calls and at least one trainer. Their roles are explained below.Coordinator – this is the person doing the DTM project.
1. Build out the team and assign tasks accordingly
2. Track tasks to completion
3. Train the trainers how to conduct the appropriate training for the project
4. Provide callers with proper lists
5. Instruct callers on how do make calls
6. Schedule Project Training once per month
7. Coordinate with CGD /PQD on who was trained for the project
8. Make continuous improvements to create greater efficiency.
Callers
1. Acquire contact list for District sorted by Division
2. Contact all members in one or more Divisions per month
3. Make a list of who wants to attend training
4. Create flier for next scheduled training
5. Send flier to all people wanting to be a coach
6. Send flier District wide.
Trainer
1. Acquire training material / slides
2. Update slides to ensure all the latest info is covered
3. Conduct the appropriate project Training
4. Provide list of Toastmasters who completed training to Coordinator
Recurring DTM Projects
There are a number of trainings that take place through the year. Some at the club level, others at the district or division levels. We have found in our experiences that a lot of these trainings are haphazard in timing. To eliviate some of the poor quality in clubs due to insufficient training in a timely manner, we are designing several training projects that can be run every year.
Over time, the training gets refined and becomes more effective as we conduct each session. Resources will be adjusted and made available. Timing of the training gets adjusted to match the Districts goals throughout the year. Below are the current projects we identified but this list is by no means complete. Projects can easily be added when the need is determined.
For this project to succeed the training must be run multiple times. The goal of the project is to hold the training for each Division in the District. Club Coaches need a minimum of six months as a club coach, therefore, to get credit in the current Toastmaster year, the coach needs to be assigned a club prior to January. That means this project runs from June 1 to December 31.
All people who successfully qualify as a club coach get added to the pool of available coaches. Club coach assignments are made by the District’s CGD.
As the person running the project, you are responsible for its implementation. Your “Callers” will contact club members in the Division you are working with for the current month. Your “Trainer” will need to download a copy of the slides. If the slides need to be updated either you or the Trainer may do so.

Sponsored clubs provide their members with the confidence and communication skills to flourish in their jobs; as members are able to deliver stronger presentations at work, lead more productive staff meetings and relate better with clients and colleagues.
A sponsor typically provides one or more of the following:
- Meeting location
- Charter fee
- New member fee
- Membership dues
- Incentives for completion of Toastmasters education paths
We have volunteer Toastmasters leaders around the world who will meet with your organization to determine your needs and show you how Toastmasters can help.

Club leaders around the world say that clubs (and their individual members) achieve more consistently when they have an organized mentoring program. Indeed, mentoring is a fundamental aspect of the Toastmasters experience.
Club Mentors provide the new club with help and practical advice, such as tips on club roles and responsibilities. How each officer works and what their roles and responsibilities are.
Give club mentors the knowledge to provide a strong foundation for new clubs. Hold this training on a regular basis (at least once per quarter) to reenforce the strength and knowledge of club mentors.

The goal of the project is to hold the training for each Division in the District. All Area Directors need to know how to have a successful club year. This cannot be done in the dark. They need a roadmap to follow to be successful.
These trainings is done at least twice per Toastmaster year (beginning and middle). Contact each Area Director (by Division) and schedule a date for the training to take place.

The goal of the project is to hold the training for each Division in the District. All Club Officers need to know how to read and use the DCP Dashboard. The Dashboard is the only way that TI can measure a club’s success. By knowing what the dashboard shows and what the data means, Club Officers will have a greater idea on what tasks need to be accomplished for the club to achieve Distinguished or better status.
These trainings are done at least twice per Toastmaster year (once the first half of the years and once the second half). Contact each Club Officer (by Division) and schedule a date for the training to take place.

The goal of the project is to hold the training for each Division in the District. All Club Officers need to know how to keep a club performing toward excellence. Its always about the basics. From time-to-time clubs need help reinvigorating themselves. Moments of truth is that help. If clubs perform to the level of expectations in the Moments of Truth, they would never have a problem being successful.

The District puts on Club Officer Training twice a year, why do we have a DTM Project doing the same thing? The answer is simple. Our District needs our help putting these trainings together. There is not enough members on the Ditrict Team itself to run these training and the District Leadership always reaches out for Trainers to make it happen. They also do not have the resources to run all the training each session.
This project will set up training for club officers by division. The person accomplishing this DTM Project will work directly with the Division Directors to schedule training. To be successful, the Project Team will need to keep track of each Division it runs the training for and a complete list of all club members that attend the training for credit. That information will need to be sent to the PQD for credit to be applied.
The project team will need a list of all club officers in the District broken down by Division. Phone calls to club officers informing them of the date/time of training is necessary.
The ultimate goal is to provide enough training sessions to get all seven officers from every club trained twice per year.

Your “Trainer” will need to download a copy of the slides. If the slides need to be updated either you or the Trainer may do so.
