What is the District Leadership Committee?

The District Leadership Committee, or DLC, vets and qualifies candidates through assessments and interviews. These individual candidates intend to run for a district leadership position.

Who are the members of the committee?

The committee consists of 7 members and is chaired by the Immediate Past District Director, Lawrence Quesada, DTM, who selects a representative from each Division. Members have served previously as District Leaders.

What are the open positions up for election?

The open positions that are elected are the following.

  • District Director
  • Program Quality Director
  • Two (2) Club Growth Directors
  • Division A Director
  • Division B Director
  • Division C Director
  • Division D Director
  • Division E Director
  • Division F Director

You may begin submitting your intent to run on December 1, 2022

Is there a deadline for submitting the application forms?

The deadline is on February 27, 2023, at 11:59 pm

I missed the deadline. Can I still run?

Yes, candidates can still run from the floor as a floor candidates.

Is there a deadline to run as a floor candidate?

Floor candidates must let the district director know in writing of their intention to run before by May 5, 2023, at 11:59 PM.

What are floor candidates?

Floor candidates are candidates wishing to run for a district leader but have missed the deadline.

What else do I need to know about running as a floor candidate?

Why do I need to be interviewed? 

All candidates running for elected positions must be qualified. The best way to know if they are qualified is through an interview process. Much like a job interview.

Do I still need to be interviewed if I’m running as a floor candidate?

Yes. The committee must evaluate the specific position you are running for. A nomination from the floor also must be made.

I have been interviewed for one position; do I have to interview again for another position if I want to run for that position instead?

Yes. Interviews are conducted to qualify you for each position you intend to run for.

Who can nominate from the floor?

Nominations may also be made from the floor by any member of the District Council only if the floor candidate meets the requirements outlined in Article VII (e) of these administrative bylaws and has been evaluated by the District Leadership Committee for that specific role in that election cycle.

How will I know the results of my interview?

You will receive a phone call and an email within 72 hours of your interview.

When are the interviews going to be conducted?

Interviews will begin on March 1, 2023 and end on March 31, 2022.

When are the District Elections?

The elections will be held during the Spring Annual Business Meeting on May 12, 2023

Open informational sessions are held every Monday from 7 pm to 8 pm via this zoom link. You may join at any time.
