Toastmasters FAQ
Upon joining Toastmasters, you will pay three different
fees. The first is the $17.24 new member fee paid in order to
receive educational materials. The second amount is International
dues, $3.00 per month. The third is your club dues, if any. All
Toastmasters clubs are billed in March and September
for semiannual dues for members wishing to remain members
for the next six months. If you join between those periods,
you submit a pro-rated share of the dues. Clubs usually
charge dues on top of the International dues. This way,
the club will have enough money in the treasury for its
expenses. Each club decideds what members are charged.
Some clubs waive the club dues for new members and only
assess them at the semiannual dues payment dates. If you
join at the following times, you'd owe:
| Month Joined | Materials | TI Dues | Club Dues |
| April or October | $17.24 + | $18.00 + | Club Dues |
| May or November | $17.24 + | $15.00 + | Club Dues |
| June or December | $17.24 + | $12.00 + | Club Dues |
| July or January | $17.24 + | $9.00 + | Club Dues |
| August or February | $17.24 + | $6.00 + | Club Dues |
| September or March | $17.24 + | $3.00 + | Club Dues |
Then, once you're signed up, the cost is $18.00 plus club
dues every six months, collected in September and March.
Note: Due to California law, members of clubs in California pay sales tax on their new member fee ($16.00 plus $1.24 state sales tax).
